Hope AwardsIn November 2004 the Hunger Commission sponsored the fifth annual Hope
Awards, a luncheon to acknowledge and celebrate individuals and organizations
working to end hunger in the Sacramento region. There were 24 nominees
of all ages, representing a wide range of programs and activities in Sacramento,
Placer and Yolo counties. Certificates of recognition were presented to
all nominees by Mayor Heather Fargo, County Supervisor Don Nottoli, Assemblymember
Darrell Steinberg and Lisa Hill, from Comgressperson Robert Matsui's office.The
seven HOPE Award winners were:
